I finally did it! I made my move!

I went from an eBay buyer to an eBay seller and just sold my first item ever on that website.

Something to be excited about, one would think, and while I spent the last ten days glaring at my phone in excitment every ten minutes, just to see if the price had gone up, I now wish I had never put my old iPhone 4 up for sale.

I did a lot of research before I placed my auction and was sure I would receive at least  200 euros for my trusted “old” gadget. I figured the heavy bidding wouldn’t begin until right before the end and so I was pretty confident when I woke up this morning and found the then current bid at 112 euros.

It didn’t take long, however, for reality to hit. And hit it did… hard! I had watched other auctions for the same phone end up way north of the 200 euro mark and was super disappointed when the clock ran out and the bid counter didn’t go past 151.

My failed ebay auction

Until now I only knew what buyer’s remorse felt like but now I also know what it feels like to sell something you wish you hadn’t.

I’m not sure if I’ll ever sell on eBay again. Maybe I just made mistakes. Maybe it was just bad luck. Or maybe I just suck at selling. Whatever the reason, this is definitely a lesson learned!

Next time I won’t start an auction at 1 euro!
