  1. Street Art

    October 16, 2011 by Dad

While we were out walking with the kids today, we passed this old factory building on the edge of town. Graffiti is a big problem here in Germany, especially in big cities like Berlin and Cologne. Removing Graffiti is so expensive that some towns cannot afford it.

Out here in the country where we live it’s not that big of an issue, but it’s a problem nonetheless.

Unless it actually is some really cool Graffiti, like the one we saw on that old factory building.

If more Graffitis looked like this instead of just stupid and ugly tags, it would actually add to our surroundings rather than destroy it. This shouldn’t even be called Graffiti but Street Art instead.

  2. Even Daddies go to School

    October 16, 2011 by Dad

We were walking around my home town of Bad Windsheim today and eventually passed my elementary school. I explained to Emilia that Daddy went to that school when he was little.

Somehow she just couldn’t believe that even Daddies went to school at one point in their lives.

  3. Emilia’s Statement of the Day

    October 16, 2011 by Dad

For a few months now not a day goes by when Emilia doesn’t make a hilarious statement of some sort. She is learning a lot of German in kindergarten and when she speaks now it’s about 50% English and 50% German mixed together. So, I figured why not collect here funny statements in the form of a special series, which I will call “Emilia’s Statement of the Day”. I will attempt to publish one of her statements every day, not only for your and our enjoyment but also so Emilia can maybe read them herself one day.

So, without further ado, I will give you Emilia’s first of hopefully many more funny statements to come.

We were at my uncle’s house today and the kids were craving ice cream. Since I can be a kid myself sometimes, I got them some and while I was at it, I got some for myself too. Emilia quickly noticed that I eat my ice cream differently than she does and it didn’t take long before she commented on my ice cream eating habits…

Daddy, you don’t need to beissen (bite) your ice cream, you need to schlecken it (lick it)!

Well, how can I say no to that? All right honey, Daddy will “schleck” his ice cream from now on.

  4. Open for Business

    October 16, 2011 by Dad

    Hi guys! Remember us?

Due to the fact that my domain was expiring and I had to give my wife a valid reason as to why I wanted to renew it popular demand we have decided to bring our little family blog back to life (again), to keep our friends and family around the world up to date about what is going on in our busy lives. Some of you are already friends with Steph and I on Facebook and have been able to check in on us on a regular basis. However, not everyone wants to sign up for a fb account, just so they can see the most beautiful pictures of our two even more beautiful little girls, our dogs and us (shame on you!).

So, for those of you who have not yet joined the largest social networking site there ever was (please, you eventually have to tell me how you managed to resist for so long), we’ll regularly post updates to this blog, so you too have a chance to check in on us whenever you feel the need to satisfy your stalking needs. 24/7/365. (Don’t worry, it’s cool.)

Updates to this blog most likely will coincide with updates I make to Facebook, so it’s actually kinda like you’re following me on Facebook without really following me on Facebook. Pretty neat, huh?! :) Mix in a few tweets (Yes! I’m on Twitter too. Surprised?) and some Instagram pictures and I it’s kinda like I just created my very own social networking site. I could call it Twinstabook or Facettergram.

    Anyway, I’m rambling …

We hope you’ll visit our site often and let us know that you were here, by leaving a comment or even two. If you have any questions, you know how you can get in touch with us. On the off chance that you might not, you can find some contact info here.

So again, thanks for stopping by and enjoy reading our little blog.

    Andy
